Indian enthusiasts have been waiting for the Volkswagen Golf GTI for years, and the wait is finally coming to an end. VW is set to launch the 8.5th generation facelift of the Golf GTI (Mk 8.5) by June 2024, marking the legendary hot hatch’s debut in India. This version comes exclusively in the high-performance GTI trim, offering an exciting blend of power and precision.
Under the hood, the Golf GTI is powered by the 2.0-litre EA888 LK3 evo4 turbocharged petrol engine, manufactured in Hungary and assembled in Wolfsburg, Germany. Paired with a lightning-fast 7-speed DSG gearbox, it delivers a thrilling 261 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. The hatchback sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h, electronically limited.
🚙 Tayron SUV: Premium and Practical
In addition to the Golf GTI, Volkswagen will also launch the Tayron SUV in India later this year. Positioned above the Tiguan, the Tayron will serve premium SUV buyers looking for a larger, more upscale alternative.
